French Apple tart is one of the most popular desserts in France. It is an ultra simple recipe to make with very few ingredients. It is also a rather healthy sweet pleasure because I only put a tablespoon of sugar in it. You have to try it!
I am not someone who loves desserts in general (although over time I get to love sweet pleasures with my tea in the afternoon). I tend to prefer to eat fruit. However, I cannot deny that French dessert is the best (except for brownies, my absolute favorites American food). French Apple tart is also one of my family’s favorite desserts. We love to make it a weekend for dessert, or as I said, in the afternoon. We each have different ways of doing it. For example, my grandfather does it with puff pastry and very few apples. It’s always funny to see his pie with only a few slices of apple in the middle and often well overcooked for me!
My mom and I prefer tart with lots of fruit. What I like about apple tart is not the dough but the apple. That’s why I like to take the time to make a compote to put in the bottom and then add slices on top. It takes a little longer to prepare but it’s worth it! In reality, I really don’t mind spending hours in the kitchen, I could even spend all day making cakes and new recipes.
Right now, I’m passionate about period shows and I see these women who used to spend their time in the kitchen because you had to do everything yourself, bread, cakes, gratin, etc. I know that women’s lives were not really enviable because they were in the kitchen without a choice. It is sometimes an idea that makes me want. Go back to simple things. Spend spring Sundays preparing the fruit we have harvested and keep them for the winter season. Sometimes, I miss my grandparents’ country house.
I love making small animations and GIF, so I wanted to make one for Instagram and the blog in order to show you the very simple process of this recipe. I hope you like it! If you like fruit-based desserts, I strongly recommend you try my peach moelleux with almonds, this fruit is not yet seasonal but you can make the same recipe with apples or pears. Don’t forget to subscribe to my newsletter! This way, you won’t miss any recipe with a recap every Saturday morning. Have a beautiful day!
