
What is better than a potatoes purée? I love it! I think it’s a very Frenchy recipe. Butter is the most important in this recipe. In France, a very famous chef, Joël Robuchon (32 stars and restaurants all around the world) was telling : “you need a lot of butter, almost the half of the potatoes amount. Well, it’s maybe a little bit too much. BUT, yes butter is very important!
In this recipe, I used a fork to mashed the potatoes. I don’t have a lot of utensil for the moment and with our car trouble, I won’t buy them right now… By the way, I think we’re finally coming to the end with these troubles. But we will spend around $850. Well, if after that we have a good car, that’s fine!! But we will eat lots of pasta and potatoes for a little time.. 😄
For this recipe, most of the time, we use milk and butter. I don’t have regular milk in my kitchen because I prefer Almond milk for my breakfast or other stuff. I don’t want to buy 1 liter of milk if I only use 250ml and trash the rest. So I bought a small a half & half carton. It was very good too.
As a vegetarian, I ate my potatoes purée with some greens, brocoli but you can eat it with meat, salmon or anything you want. When I was a kid, I ate it with sausage. So good!

Ingredients
- 3 big potatoes ((I used the less expensive at Walmart, red one))
- 1/2 cup half & half
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- salt and pepper
Instructions
- Peel the potatoes and cut them in big pieces (it shortens the cooking time). Cook them in boiling water for 40 minutes. Check with a knife that they are cooked
- Drain and put the pieces back to the sauce pan. Start to mash with a fork or a potato masher. Add the half and half, stir and add the butter and stir again. Let melt it in th potatoes. Add some salt and pepper and serve!
