Sesame seeds crispy and marinated salmon with honey and soy sauce. Healthy meal with few ingredients and an original taste! Very quick to make, perfect for weeknight.
Salmon is one of my favorite fish! I don’t eat often fish but when I do, I love to do something very good, not just to “eat” if you know what I mean.
The other day, I had to beautiful salmon filet in the freezer and I say to myself: “hum… I have sesame seeds too! I could try to bread the filet with it!”. But first, I love marinated salmon! It’s so simple to do and it’s an extra plus. I looked at my cupboards and I had few things to make something great!
In my previous post, I used sesame oil for my Soba Noodles Salad, I love sesame taste (this sesame oil is amazing!). It’s funny because few years ago, I hated that! Sesame oil was weird for me and tahini: eww! I tried tahini sauce and I couldn’t finish my salad so much I didn’t like.
And I don’t know, one day, I liked it. I think it comes from my love for hummus. You always have tahini in hummus, it’s the basis! Now, I love sesame! Especially sesame oil! In Asian type food it’s so good. But I think my husband is not a big fan for the moment. When I add sesame oil in a dish and I don’t say it to him, he feels he doesn’t like something without knowing what it is. I do.
To accompagne these salmon filets, I made a simple salad with quinoa, cucumber, red bell pepper and cilantro. I like to mix cold and hot food. My husband doesn’t 😄
But if your are like him, you can serve this salmon with basmati rice or why not soba noodles? I’m sure it must be very good.
For this recipe, I used frozen salmon. I defrost them the night before. When I opened the package I did remove all the excess water with paper towel. After that, it’s perfect! Frozen fish is great, very convenient. When my fridge is empty, I always have something! And of course, it’s less expensive.
