This delicious cauliflower and broccoli gratin with French béchamel is simple to make, requires few ingredients that are all very simple. It will be perfect with a salad. It’s the perfect dish to make the whole family eat healthy vegetables, adult as kid!
What a difficult time! I must admit that I don’t really know what to eat right now. I go out as little as possible and therefore find myself with dry foods that I am not used to consuming. What a pleasure to eat fruits and vegetables that we bought in the morning! I don’t know about you but I miss the appetite a lot at the moment. It is due to the lack of activity but also to the mood. Seeing the world go so badly and be so far away from my family breaks my heart!
I still wanted to make one of my favorite dishes of the moment: the cauliflower gratin. But this time, I added broccoli that I had in my fridge, so it became a gratin of cauliflower and broccoli. I think what I like most about this recipe is the delicious béchamel that comes on top of these vegetables. Believe me, if you are not a fan of broccoli or cauliflower, with this recipe you risk to finish the dish!
This recipe is an adaptation of a recipe from my mom. She often made me vegetable gratins for dinner. It was simple and fast, there was only to put in the oven for a few minutes and it was perfect. She also made me a version with endives and ham, just as delicious! We used to serve this cauliflower gratin with salad and a slice of Paris ham (cooked ham).
Feel free to double the amount and freeze some of it, it frozen very well! Especially at this time, we do the shopping in large quantities but we must be able to preserve vegetables. Freezing is the easiest way! I hope with all this you are not too bad. We have to be strong. All the best ❤️
